Do the SMOLSKULLs have names?
Officially, no.
But members of the community took some shots to separate one from the other: We got the limebois ๐ŸŸฉ, lemon girls ๐Ÿ‹, blueberry ๐Ÿซ, cherry ๐Ÿ’ or blood ๐Ÿฉธ, clean black and white, then we got gray gang, 3D glasses ๐Ÿ”ด๐Ÿ”ต, fire eyes ๐Ÿ”ฅ, gradients ๐ŸŒˆ, stoned eyes, doom mouth and the list goes on and on. Weโ€™ve been having too much fun naming all our favorites ๐Ÿค™๐Ÿผ
How are the NFTs stored?
All NFTs are stored on the Tezos blockchain stored using the FA2 token standard.
All assets (HTML / JavaScript files) are stored on IPFS. The "InterPlanetary File System" is a protocol and peer-to-peer network for storing and sharing data in a distributed file system. IPFS uses content-addressing to uniquely identify each file in a global namespace connecting all computing devices.
To preserve the files, pinning is the mechanism that allows you to tell IPFS to always keep a given object somewhere. My advice is to pin your assets if you don't want to be dependent on external services.
Why doesn't my smolskull have metadata assigned?
Some SMOLSKULLs don't have metadata (or "features") assigned. Why? This question asks for a bit of history. SMOLSKULL is the 14th project of fxhash, it arrived when the fxhash was in beta and was brand new. At the time, the site and the reveal server (which generates the thumbnails + assigns metadata) was very slow and there were lots of errors in the process. For some reason there are some SMOLSKULLs without metadata, just because it never got assigned in the process. This cannot be recovered, due to the nature of how the blockchain and this process works.

To learn about the actual attributes, I provided a custom list to the website. All "forgotten" SMOLSKULLs are in there.
Why do some SMOLSKULLs have wrong thumbnails?
Some SMOLSKULLs don't have the correct metadata (or "features") assigned. There was a famous #64 bug in the very early days of fxhash, where some iteration were messed up; its thumbnail was confused with other projects. SMOLSKULL is the 14th project of fxhash. This specific issue is ofcourse solved for newer projects, but for old projects like it cannot be recovered. Take it as a bit of the history. If you run the token, you see it is still a true SMOLSKULL. These are the bugged SMOLLSKULLs:
What is a PFP?
PFP stands for Profile Picture. In the context of NFTs, a PFP project is a collection of unique, digital tokens that can be used as profile pictures on social media platforms.
What is the best profile picture on Tezos?
The best profile picture on Tezos is subjective and depends on personal preference. SMOLSKULLs, being generative, procedural, and fun-looking, are a popular choice among many users.
What is Tezos?
Tezos is a blockchain network that's based on smart contracts, much like Bitcoin and Ethereum. However, it's designed to automatically upgrade itself without causing a fork. This is intended to make it future-proof and secure.
Is there a roadmap?
No. But that doesn't mean new SMOLSKULL related projects won't pop up in the future ๐Ÿ˜‰. We all love suprises more than broken promises. ๐ŸŽ
